The main tools you need for shaping Art Clay Silver when it is soft, when it is dried to the plaster stage as well as after firing for polishing the silver.

Rolling Strips
A pair of acrylic rolling strips for laying on either side of the clay when rolling sheets. This ensures a sheet of even thickness.

Three sizes: 0.5mm, 1mm and 1.5mm thick.

Metal clay roller
Plastic roller for rolling out metal clay. Good smooth surface and does not stick to the clay. Lightweight and strong.
Use with the rolling strips above placed on either side as you roll out.

Tweezers
Stainless steel tweezers - 12.5cm long. Ideal for picking up fired silver pieces too hot to handle!
Also use for dipping silver pieces in antiquing solution (Liver of Sulphur)

Water brush pen
A useful tool for keeping your clay moist as you work. Fill the reservoir with water and a little squeeze of your fingers will allow the water to moisten the brush end. You can apply the water wherever you need with accuracy.

Stainless Steel brush - short bristles
Used to brush the silver after firing to remove the white, crystalline surface. A good general purpose brush. The best brush for rings - the short bristles mean that you can brush inside the ring shank.

Used to brush the silver after firing to remove the white, crystalline surface.
Long bristles are also good for high relief and delicate pieces

A very fine stainless steel brush - double-ended - with fine bristles for brushing into the tiniest nooks and crannies in your silver.

Used to burnish the surface of the silver after brushing to give a mirror polish

Sanding Pads
Foam pads 14 x 11cm with sanding surface. Available in 3 grits. Use for sanding dry Art Clay before firing and for sanding and polishing fired silver
