Making Miniature Dolls

Here are the materials that you will need to complete your polymer clay dolls house dolls.

Pipe cleaners are glued into the neck and ends of the dolls' limbs to make poseable bodies.
Quilt wadding is wrapped round the pipe cleaners to flesh out the body.
Viscose doll hair is ideal for miniature dolls because it is so fine.

Doll Hair
Fine viscose hair ideal for miniature dolls. Glue to the dolls head with Tacky glue (PVA glue). Curl the hair by dampening a thin length and winding it tightly round a fine knitting needle. Place in a cool oven (100°C/210°F) for about 30 minutes until dry. This gives excellent ringlets that can be cut to length as required, or teased out to make curls.

Pipe Cleaners
Flesh coloured or cream (as available) for jointing and making the bodies and limbs of miniature dolls. Use superglue to attach the pipe cleaners to the polymer clay head and limbs of your doll. The pipe cleaners can be fleshed out by winding strips of quilt wadding round them and stitching to secure.
