Kato Clay has made its mark as a fantastic new polymer clay that is highly recommended by professional users in the USA. Ideal for jewellery and fine art applications, it is particularly good for millefiore caning. The Liquid Clay is the most transparent available.
The Superior Working Properties of Kato Polyclay:
- An excellent clay for millefiori and fine jewellery detail - Color stability and uniform consistency - Non-sticky formula - Superior cured strength - More for your money
Kato Polyclay is a firm polymer clay and is designed particularly for millefiori caning. It does not become sticky and soft with working but compared with Premo and Fimo Soft, it requires more conditioning before use to make it smooth and malleable.
To condition Kato clay and avoid too much crumbling, slice the polyclay into pieces approximately 1/4in. thick and roll through the thickest setting of your pasta machine. Finish by folding and rolling. Or, by hand, cut the clay into chunks and knead until it is soft and pliable.
Even with continuous kneading and working, Kato Polyclay maintains its ease of workability and does not become sticky.
Most Kato Polyclay colours remain unchanged from raw to cured state. Certain colors deepen very slightly when cured. Kato Polyclay is the only clay utilizing vacuum processing - a state of the art process that removes internal air pockets.
All colours are mixable.
NEW SIZE PACKS NOW AVAILABLE Kato Clay 3oz (89g) packs have been discontinued by the manufacturer and the new size packs are 2oz (56g). We will continue to supply 3oz packs while stocks last, then we will supply the new size.
BAKING TEMPERATURES The baking temperatures have been changed on Kato Clay in the past few months. Packs now recommend baking at 150C. The old formula clay can also be baked at this higher temperature if you wish, so you do not need to worry about different baking times when combining old and new clay.
