New Sculpey UltraLight is an exciting new clay that we are sure will be welcomed by all polymer clay enthusiasts. It is amazingly versatile and lightweight, but bakes so hard that it won't crack or break, even in larger pieces. Sculpey UltraLight can be used as a replacement for foil armatures for sculpting, doll making and puppetry - and as a filler for large jewellery beads or home decor objects such as frames, flowers and vessels. When rolled thin and baked, Sculpey UltraLight is flexible and perfect for paper crafts. It can be moulded and glued to card and paper - as well as wood, metal etc.
After baking, Sculpey Ultralight even floats! The baked clay can be painted with acrylic paints, sanded, drilled and buffed.
A wonderful addition to the polymer clay repertoire. We tested it at the Clay Pit and found it very easy to model - rather like an air dry paper clay - but the great thing is it does not dry out - and you can keep reshaping it until you are satisfied and then bake it to a permanent hardness.
Bakes at normal polymer clay temperatures - full instructions are on the pack with a useful project information card inside.
To colour the clay, you can also mix it with Premo Sculpey or Sculpey III - see the pic below with UltraLight mixed with varying quantities of Premo alizarin crimson to make the rose.
