GAS HOB FIRING

Firing Art Clay Silver on a gas hob is very easy to do. You can use an ordinary domestic gas hob - or if you do not have gas, consider purchasing a camping gas stove. The kind shown in the picture is widely available from garden centres in the UK and is ideal for firing Art Clay Silver. You can fire at least 6 pieces at a time and the flat base of the stove makes it safe and stable to use. See Firing Information for further details.

Stainless Steel Nets

These are placed on the burner of a gas hob and the dried silver pieces are placed on top for firing. The larger size also comes with a protection net to place over the pieces while they are firing for added safety.

The meshes are also used for placing Art Clay pieces on when drying with a hair dryer.
